Your Differential Is More Than Just a Gearbox

When you hit the gas pedal in your car, you expect it to move forward. But how exactly does that happen? Thanks to a little know part of your car called the differential, your car continues to move forward each and every day. Luckily, we here at Budd Baer Auto are here to give you the basics about your differential and how to care for it.

Your differential is a small gearbox that is located near your axle. When the engine produces to power, the transmission moves this power through the differential gearbox that helps spin the axles and turn the wheels. While a differential could very well last the lifetime of your vehicle, it is important to change its lubricating fluid every 30,000 miles or so.
